About Us

We are a small, family farm run by Jerry and Judi Harris. We raise Duroc hogs, Dorper sheep, and Lim-Flex beef cattle on wide open pastures of coastal Bermuda grass in Bastrop, Texas. We provide our pasture-raised beef, lamb, and pork directly to you as a healthy and affordable alternative to obtaining meat from your local grocery store. Want to raise your own animals? We also sell our animals as breeding stock.

Our History

After Jerry obtained a BS in Animal Science in 1971, we set up a feeder pig operation in north Alabama, specializing in breeding purebred Durocs. We raised pigs until 1976, when Jerry’s job as a grain trader at Central Soya landed him a position as a commodity trader with Meryll Lynch in Atlanta. That was the beginning of a 30+ year career in the financial industry. However, animal husbandry remained near and dear to our hearts throughout the years. After Jerry retired from finance, we moved to Texas to be near our grown children and could not resist the call of the beautiful land here. We decided to get back into raising animals. We have 45 acres of gorgeous pasture where our small herds roam free day and night. We strive to keep them happy and healthy, and they all have access to more grass than they could ever eat.

Innovative Irrigation System

We invested in a state-of-the-art well and irrigation system to ensure our animals are able to graze on lush, green pastures year round. Additionally, we seed ryegrass in the winter. This reduces the need for grain feed, producing leaner beef with more monounsaturated fats.

All Natural Approach

Our cattle and sheep graze on all natural, herbicide-free grass. We regularly employ practices such as recycling as much farm waste as possible and adding composted material to our soil in an effort to keep it as regenerative as possible. Additionally, we never take our cattle onto beef feedlots and do not add hormones to the grain feed. The cows get minimal grain finish in the last 45 days before harvest.
